What if they branded you a pirate, even though they had stolen from you? What if your justice was more swift, your judgment more true, and your process more due? What if you hanged pirates while they hanged patriots? What if you had a moral compass, but they didn't? What would you tell your children then? Where could you raise them to be strong and brave and free? What if you still wanted them to be American? What if you loved the constitution despite the government? What if on the inside, you were more American than the Americans? How could you ever go home?
