This is a sampler of stories related to the theme that every child, no matter their age or circumstance, needs a family for a lifetime. This basic message has been both the calling and passion of my life. Within these pages you will find both true and fictionalized stories that demonstrate the value and blessing of family for young people who have experienced all kinds of traumas in their lives. Being rooted in a family provides the context, environment and opportunity for healing, wholeness and hope for a brighter future.  While each of these stories is unique, they are not uncommon. The data and research do confirm and support the fact that many of the 400,000 children in foster care today have similar stories, hopes, dreams and needs and each one of us can do something to make a difference.
