The Tao of Trailing is not simply an advanced training manual on working a trailing/tracking dog, but more importantly, it is Jeff's philosophical approach to working with dogs in general. K9 work is more than a matter of learning rules or theory. One cannot master K9 deployment by a training program alone. Like martial arts, working a dog takes a certain style or panache; an individual component unique not only to the handler but the dog alike and in partnership. The relationship between a handler and his or her K9 is formed with blood, sweat, tears and a lot of time. And, of course, Jeff will impart to the reader his lvoe and passion: The Hunt!
