About the Author: An award-winning writer, Karen Petit lives in South Carolina and is the happy companion of Lady, a Standard Poodle, and Louie, a Bichon Frise. For four years, Karen was Dixie's adopted mother, a role that remains the most cherished of her life. The author's love for animals is celebrated through her books.

About the Illustrator: Abby Mehan is an award-winning online illustrator who has several years' background in the illustrative arts and a bachelor's degree in business. Her artwork is often inspired by her three Poodles.
