In the War of the Roses, the Tresham family sides with the Lancaster clan in England and loses the war against King Edward IV. He succeeds in escaping and returns to Rhodes just in time to take part in the defense of that fortress against the vast army of Mehmed II from Turkey. Grandmaster Pierre d' Aubusson supports our hero and puts him at important locations to beat the Moslems. Gervais happily survives and finds his eternal luck.
