A series of misunderstandings resulted in a weekend battle marked by valor on both sides, and earning 15 American Seamen and Marines the first Medals of Honor for actions in a foreign war. The little-known "Weekend War" that was the first Korean War, is called "Shinmyangyo" by the Koreans... "The Disturbance of 1871".
