Colleen is not the perfect mother. Her past drug addiction, conflated with one of her ex-boyfriend's sexually abusing Jazzman, has caused much pain in their mother-daughter relationship.

Mia continues the error of her ways with a series of bad decisions that later leads her to a physical confrontation with Claude, the father of her unborn child. Meanwhile, she has told her new man, Brad, he is the father.
