German Strategy in the Great War Lieut-Colonel Philip Neame
German Strategy in the Great War
Lieut-Colonel Philip Neame
Covering the German Strategic Plan from 1871 through to 1918.
Each chapter is devoted to the more important separate campaigns and battles without a connected narrative to all German operations. This book was published as a result of lectures given at the Staff College between 1920-23 and is complete with 17 good full page colour maps. Of value because it is one of the few attempts made by a British soldier to provide a work of instruction based upon a study of German strategy. The author covers a great deal of ground and gives a good summary of the various German offensives. A useful survey and framework for further study.
