Ben and Arald and The Big Empty is the magical story of a boy and his dragon. Benjamin Drake is forced to spend two whole weeks with his father's grandmother in the mountains. Oma is strange. Her house is even stranger. It includees a racoon that wishes dishes and chickens that chuckle. Ben discovers he is destined to become bonded with a baby dragon named Arald. Together they must protect out world from the Big Empty. First Ben and Arald must learn to talk to each other so they can uncover clues the Great Dragons provide. Not all goes smoothly. Ben and Arald must depend on help from Ben's father and Oma as well as one more 'hoo-mun' before they can begin to solve the problem of the Big Empty.
