After being prompted by her friends, she agrees to go to a bed and breakfast quilting weekend, where she hopes she can get some perspective on her life and what is to become of her now. The Kindred Spirit Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful historic inn and the attentive hosts are just what Kim needs. While quilting with her friends, Beth and Andy, over hot chocolate and lots of laughs, her low spirits slowly begin to take a turn for the better. The inn seems to bring her some peace, and the slow pace allows her time to reflect on her marriage and family. As the heavy snow begins to fall, Kim's memories are turned toward the past -- days with her children and her loving husband. Can she learn to forgive? And does she want to?
