The Book of a Runner is only an evocative narration of the most gruesome and single-hearted athletic event: the marathon. It is not history of great marathons, or tricks about how to run a marathon or even factual accounts of the author's own racing career - it is a mix of all these things. Pablo Lazo provide us with an insight to run with him, feel his pace and the race of this great marathon held in Northen Mexico. As the kilometres pass, we simply understand the secrets of this race, the personallity of Gustavo and Aaron, and the misterious Blond Girl. Lazo fights against all of them and races with them.
