An Unlikely Cornish Fisherman-The Early Years
Michael Soady
Michael Hugh Soady's life is what one could call a well-lived one! He was born at West Looe, Cornwall, on 19 September 1937, the eldest son of a 6th Generation Fisherman Fernley Soady and his wife Edna May (nee) Toms. Michael was educated at Looe School, Liskeard Grammar School and Devonport Engineering College. He was conscripted for National Service, serving as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the Corps of Royal Military Police for two years from February 1960 - January 1962.
An Unlikely Cornish Fisherman is Michael's life story summed up in a book, eccentric and full of adventure. He reminisces the best memories of his life in his autobiography, and expresses true love for his family and friends.
