Augusto Manke
Augusto Manke works swing shift in a warehouse in Illinois. He says he is still trying to figure out his life, has a few clues.
Manke depicts a challenged universe. Set amid the tenement squalor of a blighted city, he explores everyday pain, loss, the courage to persist even when the odds are slim. Some people die here, some carry faith instead of a pistol, others succumb to drugs, warfare. Still others ask questions, wonder why.
