Uncle Rob has a unique style of feeding and nurturing the flock of God over which he serves as an elder. At the close of each Lord's Day he communicates by email important information about the local church. He may pass along an elder's observation about attendance, member needs, or about the visitors who came that day to worship. His message may be an encouraging description of one of the members. In fact, he includes himself at times with self-deprecation because he too, as a humble child of God, faces life's trials. Altogether with this review each week every member of this congregation should be motivated to be "ready for every good work" (Titus 3:1).
Included in this weekly email is a scriptural lesson for edification of the reader. The book you hold in your hand is a collection of Uncle Rob's Blogs. Uncle Rob has a depth of spiritual knowledge that is made simple by his easy-to-read style. You will be surprised at the fresh insight and application of well-known Bible stories. I have read with regularity on Monday mornings this email sent out by Uncle Rob, and I have encouraged him to share them on a larger scale. This book is a result of many hours of work by Rob.
Dr. Robert W. Perkins, DVM works as a veterinarian at Tejas Veterinary Clinic in Corpus Christi, Texas. He has served as an elder of the Parkway Church of Christ since 1997. He and his wife, Julie, have two children: Walker (Wife, Jolen) and Lauren (Husband, Clark Underwood). They have been blessed with six grandchildren.
