For a young boy in Haiti, the Dominican also offers a place of refuge from a whirlwind of events that have left him broken. Samfeyo Bernard and his father depend on the Rawlings Baseball Factory for survival. When the factories in Haiti start shutting down and the unstable political landscape puts Sam's very life in danger, Sam makes the tough decision to leave his home country to chase his dream of becoming a real baseball player.
