Teryl Gray serves drinks at the Angels' Share bar, the sort of seedy place the down-and-out go to drink their troubles away. Nothing untoward has ever happened to her, until one night, near closing time, a key appears on the bartop. And it won't go away. The mystery of the key is something Teryl wants no part of, but other forces are at work, drawing Teryl into a game where the rules are ancient and the costs unbelievably high.
