Golden camellias, known as Non-timber Forest Products, contain physiologically active ingredients, including polysaccharides, polyphenols, saponins, and flavonoids. Such compounds are mostly focusing on flowers. Therefore, the main product of growing golden camellias is for their yellow flowers. Aqueous extract of golden camellias plays an important role in anxiolytic and antidepressant activities. It could inhibit transplanted cancer and prevent atherosclerosis, and have antioxidant activities and superoxide anions. Traditionally, golden camellias have been used to treat sore throat, diarrhea, high blood pressure, and cancer prevention. This book presents research results on the diversity of golden camellias, distribution, and ecology, healthcare values, identifying suitable planting areas, techniques for seedling production, plantation establishment, harvesting, and processing.
