Facts and Memories: A Family Genealogy Collection is an interesting mix of family history, personal recollections, and genealogical research that traces the author's bloodline back more than a thousand years. The prose is infused with humor, humility, and irony.

The manuscript opens with a brief recounting of the challenges the author faced as he sought to trace his roots to when his English ancestors came to North America. He chose to expand the project to include his European progenitors and was able extend the list of ancestors back though fifty generations. In the process, he discovered that his "English" bloodline actually came from a melting pot of European ethnicities.

In what must be obvious to professional genealogists, but none the less surprising to the rest of us, he notes the astonishingly broad spread of family roots that can be traced through multiple generations.
