This book is the Ph. D. thesis of the author, Dr. Mohammad Miransari, which was prepared in the college of Agriculture, Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran, and was done in 2004 and 2005 in the Research Fields of Soil and Water Research Institute, Karaj, Iran. The fields were compacted using a John Deere Tractor and the corn seeds were inoculated with mycorrhizal fugal species and planted. The results indicated the alleviating effects of mycorrhizal fungi on corn growth under compaction stress. It must be mentioned that the results of this Ph. D. research work have been published by some of the most prestigious world journals including "Soil Biology and Biochemistry" and "Soil and Tillage Research." This book can be used by students, researchers and academicians in different biological fields.
