A play meant to be performed without intermission in one act, written with a tip of the hat to Absurdist Theater. Heavily leaning on the works of Samuel Beckett, Jean Paul Sarte and Christoper Durang, the world of Old Odd Ends exists in the middleof a Venn diagram where heaven, hell, and purgatory intersect and therefore outside the realm of all three. What world would we create if we inhabited that place in between? The two protagonist couples, Henrietta and Walter - Natalie and Ludwick, struggle with what they need, what they want and what they think they desire as they uncover new and unexpected terrains. Their unconscious attempts at solving the most basic condition of the human experience leads to both comedy and tragedy. The ultimate question might be "What if what I most yearn for is to be free from Desire? Wouldn't that be a desire to be desire-less?" The play considers that while we have the intellectual capacity to imagine a better world it is always seemingly beyond the reach of our short and delimited life. How do you visualize your perfect life after life? And what if it wasn't exactly what you expected? Old Odd Ends provides you with some insight before you meet your own personal Mephitso.
