Jill has married her Tom even though she know he had a history of picking up undesirable girls in pubs. She hopes marriage will change him and for a while it seems it has. But after a bit he starts to slip back into his old ways. She feels anxious, but tries to ignore her fears till a girl turns up pregnant on the doorstep claiming the child is his. She leaves him and sets up in a flat with her friend Emma who left her husband when he attacked her. Tom's attempts to get her back become more and more frantic.
