Marimba Village and the Broken Clay Pots Darragh Christie

It was another beautiful day in Marimba Village. Children were playing under the mango trees. Women were preparing supper for their families and husbands chatted with each other planning their hunting trip the next day. Shots broke the silence. Husbands shouted to their families, "Run, run into the forest!" A group of men burst into the village shooting their guns forcing the village men back. The hunters were the hunted and they huddled together facing the guns as their families escaped into the jungle. The hunters were rounded up and led away in chains. After the invaders left, the women and children returned to Marimba and found their clay pots had been smashed and the men of the village were gone. Their men were never seen again.
