In the 18th century perfectibility became a concept in philosophy and pedagogy and has been applied not alone to individuals but also on societies. Already in pre-modernist times perfection and perfectibility shaped thinking about human and God. With these questions and problems that arise with perfection and perfectibility thinking tradition- and religion-history, conceptions are in question. Also fundamental theological questions have to be answered new: the distinction between God and human, integrity and sin as well as the creaturely world and perfect hereafter. The volume explores a selection of these questions in various literature areas of the Old Testament.
