The principal purpose of this book is to investigate the Christological perspectives in the theologies of Raimon Panikkar and Byungmu Ahn, which can be defined as Asian Christologies. The second purpose is to engage a comparative analysis of their respective Christologies. The third purpose is to evaluate their respective Christologies from Aloysius Pieris?s formulation of Asian theology, and to suggest some theological road signs to construct an Asian Christological perspective. Many Asian theologians concede that Aloysius Pieris?s Asian theology specifically is the outstanding formulation of Asian theology. Therefore, in this book, the evaluation of the Christologies of Raimon Panikkar and Byungmu Ahn as Asian Christologies will be grounded mainly in Pieris?s Asian theology.
