In recent years, the importance of preventing HIV among adolescents has been well documented. The methods of intervention that have been used to reduce HIV risk behavior among adolescents have not, to date, systematically incorporated or tested the impact of music - which is demonstrably an important aspect of adolescents daily lives and social identities. Guided by the notion that music can add a powerful and engaging component to intervention methods, this book documents the development and rigorous evaluation of a successful music-based HIV prevention intervention for urban adolescents.
