Chemistry is an expanding field and presently, medicinal chemistry branch has flourished at a tremendous rate due to active research in this area of field. Flavonoids are multifunctional components naturally present as plant pigments. However, medicinal chemists have used flavonoids as template to modify the basic structure and incorporate other active moieties to expand its therapeutic potential. Therefore, flavonoids have emerged as very important templates and at present these are shown to exhibit large number of therapeutic activities. The present book projects flavonoids as a key moiety with diverse therapeutic potential.
