Headlines communicate the messages quickly and effectively to large masses. Headlines as the display window of newspaper send these messages faster than the news stories. Newspaper headlines have evolved as a registral variety by its use of specific linguistic and stylistic features. Newspaper headlines of each newspaper maintain their own style. Even in the same newspaper ,headlines of Breaking News , Sports News, Business News and Articles have their own distinctive style. The present study aims at investigating the stylistic features which constitute the style of newspaper headlines.
