Dumpsites' Impact Assessment on Residents and Its Environment Hamza Abba

The textbook focuses on the sequential extraction technique as a tool for the impact assessment of dumpsites to its immediate environment. Heavy metals bioaccumulation on the residents? tissues (blood, hair, urine, nails) and other environmental samples (hand-dug well waters, chickens fed with the waste dumps, dust particulate, and gaseous pollutants) were investigated. Some of the health effects associated with these metals exposure include; asthma, typhoid fever, cholera, kidney impairment, cancer, effect of mental development to infants, toxicity to the central and peripheral nervous system due to mercury, cadmium and lead bioaccumulation, food, and water cotaminion etc. The book is of paramount importance to evironmental scientists, toxicologists, environmental engineers, enivironmental protection agencies and many other too numerous to mention here.
