The Cross to Rome: Studies in Romans
Sorin Sabou
The Early Christians took their 'good tidings' to Rome. Their main spokesman was Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles. In his Letter to the Romans he touches on the theme of the cross. This is the subject of this collection of studies. God has a determination to be for us and this attitude is seen at its highest in not sparing his own Son (Rom 8.32). This way of speaking about God as being ?for us? (???? ????) is, in a way, very comprehensive for this letter. All actions of God related to his people are sumrised by Paul here, especially his righteousness, love and grace. The argument of Romans was highlighted at different stages by these descriptions of God?s activity for salvation of humankind. All of these have in their centre his Son. His righteousness, love, and grace were revealed, proven and given in him.
