Anne-kathrin Wende
The aim of this book is to understand the migration and settlement experience of German migrants in Western Australia and Queensland. Based on the assumption that psychological acculturation is a key factor influencing the settlement experience of migrants, this book explains migration and settlement from the perspective of the individual. The book identifies migration motives, settlement concerns and copying strategies of German migrants. The book further explores the impact of transnational social spaces on the psychological acculturation and settlement process. In doing so it explores an area not previously researched or analyzed in Australia or Germany.
