Mapping and Management of Invasive Species: Chromolaena Odorata
Jan De Leeuw
This book presents a spatial and temporal analysis of enduring problem of bioinvasion in the modern world, and the role of GIS and remote sensing imagery in mapping and management of Chromolaena odorata one of the world's worst invasive species. This research gives a new perspective of the capabilities of indirect use of remote sensing tools in mapping and management of invasive species. We believe that this insight will allow the remote sensing community, ecologists and land managers to enhance their skills in understanding invasibility of ecosystems and mapping other cryptic invaders that pose an immediate threat to the recipient ecosystems.
