The Predictive Validity of Psychological Measures in Recruitment: Predicting Performance in Police Recruitment
Jorg Thonnissen
A variety of psychological measures commonly used by the Western Australian Police for recruitment purposes are investigated to determine their effectiveness in predicting academic performance of police recruits during initial training. The predictive ability of these tests is further extended to investigate any potential links between academic performance and on-the-job performance of police officers. The potential implications of these findings on police recruitment and subsequent on-the-job performance of police officers are discussed.
