The geo-strategic importance of Azerbaijan is explained by the fact that it ensures not only access to the world market for its energy resources, but also accepts its territory to be used as a transit corridor to deliver the energy resources of Caspian basin to world markets. In this way, it continues its integration process into Western structures and contributes to the development of a transport corridor. With this in mind, Azerbaijan is learning fast how to use its new important position as a key energy supplier and energy transit country and how to make use of its new oil revenues to pursue its foreign policy principles.
