Antibiotics are inhibited in foods. FDA has approved the usage of nisin and natamycin as preservatives in foods. Decalepis hamiltoni is found in the nalla malla forests of Andhrapradesh Decalepis hamiltoni extracts were used to find out the antimicrobial potential against several food borne pathogenic microorganisms. The methanol,ethyl acetate, hexane extracts were found to inhibit several food borne pathogens.
