Health Status of Women in Tropical Africa: Problems, Prospects and Panacea
Omolade Okwa
Parasitic diseases have continued to increase because of Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). The health status in Tropical Africa has also been characterized by poverty, ignorance, sociocultural practices and disease. Women are at the heart of these problems and ironically often neglected. This is seen as injustice, violation of human right and social discrimination, that has a ripple negative effect on the community. Life expectancy of women in tropical Africa is displayed as not comparable to that of women in developed countries ,whose situation are not so grievous. The solutions to the germane eradication of the health problems among women and what has been done so far is also discussed at length.
