For a country like Ethiopia, the contribution ofinvasive species is so diverse ranging from socialinstability to economic hardship placing constraintson sustainable development, economic growth, povertyalleviation and food security. The majority of theseinvasive alien species identified in the country hastheir own ecological requirements which enable themto dominate and proliferate in their respective placeof existence. The introduction pathways of invasivespecies to the country are so diverse that thecontrol mechanisms are also diverse and difficult. This book is written to assess the distribution andspread of Mimosa invisa and its socio-economic impactto have up-to-date information regarding the currentinvasion status of the weed and so that to drawfuture prevention and control mechanisms by theconcerned body.
