This work provides an integral review of biology, toxicity and biochemical responses of some insecticides belonging to different groups on the cotton leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis (Boisduval) known as a destructive polyphageous insect pest that attack a wide range of crops especially cotton plants throughout the world attaining huge economic losses particularly in Egypt, under laboratory and field conditions and their subsequent side effects against some common predators associated with this pest in field. Moreover, using surfactants to increase the efficiency of some selected groups (Insect Growth Regulators and Biocides) which have low impact on predators to minimize application of the traditional insecticides, thus achieve the goal of reducing environmental risk. Such knowledge may help in the control strategies of this pest.
