The present study was performed to investigate the scientific basis for the traditional uses of the crude methanolic extract and its partitionate of the leaves of the plant Lasia spinosa (Fam: Araceae). The preliminary phytochemical screening showed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and glycosides. Crude methanolic extract with other partitionates were subjected to bioactivity guided investigations such as anti-nociceptive (central and peripheral), anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antihelmintic, antidepressant, cytotoxicity, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antidiarrhoeal and thrombolytic activity. Analysis reveals Lasia spinosa can be used in different purpose.
