The tropical island Ceylon, today called Sri Lanka, had been travelled by Robert Percival in 1803. In this time the island was colonized by Britain, the Netherlands, Malaysia and Portugal. Percival accomplished with his book a very special account of a journey. He does not only describe the flora and fauna, he also dedicated a capture to the policy of Ceylon in his time. Originally released in 1803.
