Hero Elish and his Heroine girlfriend Carelle contact the Iranian student underground in New York City, with the aim of assisting a democratic Shi'ite counter-revolution against the regime of the Supreme Leader in Iran. Elish is a doctoral student of political philosophy at the New School in NYC, and Carelle is a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. They hang out in the West and East Village of NYC. They tie up with the CIA and State Department Intelligence and travel as students to Iran, where they connect with the democratic Shi'ite revolutionary forces, whose leader is Ayatollah Ibrahim Jafari of Qom. He is the maternal grandfather of Jasamin who lives in NYC, who has met closely with Elish and Carelle. Elish and Carelle attend classes at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, and at the request of the Iranian student underground go into a safehouse in Tehran, and within a matter of weeks are seeing combat in the democratic Shi'ite counter-revolution in Tehran, which is successful. Elish and Carelle also act as couriers, and there is a lot of history and intellectual discussion.
