A descriptive observational study was carried out with the population of children aged 2 to 5 years affected by risk factors for arterial hypertension, all residents in the health area of Florencia. The proposed objective was related to the elaboration of an action plan to reduce the risk factors of Arterial Hypertension in children from 2 to 5 years old in Florencia. Theoretical, empirical and mathematical-statistical methods were used, with their respective techniques and instruments, applied on the basis of informed consent. The initial diagnosis showed limitations in the knowledge of the risk factors of arterial hypertension, which led to the design and elaboration of an action plan that will enhance the knowledge of these factors in parents, educators, pedagogical assistants and caregivers in order to reduce them in the locality. The main risk factors for arterial hypertension in the group chosen as the universe were identified as those related to inadequate eating habits, obesity and overweight, sedentary lifestyle, failure to systematize blood pressure measurement and family pathological antecedents.
