Domestic violence and parental authority
Emilie Kieffer
"History shows us that violence rarely creates or solves problems. Instead, it creates unfathomable suffering. We also see that even when it seems wise and logical to end conflicts, we can never know if instead of putting out a fire, we are not lighting a blaze." Dalai Lama. "Education to non-violence passes by the non-violence of education." Jean-Marie Muller. The combination of these two quotations perfectly illustrates the harmful repercussions that violence within the family can have, whether direct or even indirect, this violence is never without consequences. Domestic violence is one of the persistent scourges in our society. In France, approximately one woman in ten is a victim of domestic violence and every three days a woman dies at the hands of her partner. However, it should be pointed out that women are not the only victims, men can also suffer this type of violence, without forgetting the children, direct witnesses of violent scenes, they are undoubtedly indirect victims of this violence within the family.
