Bronchopulmonary cancer is the leading cause of cancer mortality in the world.even after radical surgical treatment the recurrence rate of the disease remains high. The aim of our work was to study the profile of patients operated for primary bronchopulmonary cancer and to identify the prognostic factors of tumor recurrence. Retrospective study including 67 cases of primary bronchopulmonary cancer, operated between 2010 and 2016. The mean age was 61 years with a sex ratio of 21. The mean time to diagnosis was 22 days. Tumor recurrence was noted in 40% of patients. The mean time from recurrence to surgical treatment was 12 months. The most common site of recurrence was lung, followed by brain metastasis. Recurrence was more common for adenocarcinoma and smokers over 60 years of age. The majority of locally advanced and metastatic cancers had recurrence. Overall survival was 56 ± 4 months. It was more prolonged for patients of young age, with smoking less than 25 BP, early stage, without lymph node involvement and who received adjuvant chemotherapy.
