We all know Shanta Shelke as a poetess and as a lyricist, but she has very successfully handled the creative writing as well, on the contrary it is one of her favourites. She has been a successful columnist and has written for many newspaper columns. This column writing has further initiated her to handle the creative writing independently. The main impetus to her creative writing has been her curiosity about the world around her, her minute observation of the human beings around her, and her eagerness to include everyone in her experiences. Shantabai herself is a great reader. This has made her vocabulary very rich and has widened her understanding capacities. She has maintained a rhythm in her writing, her love for life is also reflected throughout, all these qualities have given a wonderful dimension to her creative writing making it more readable.
