In 1983 Chögyal Namkhai Norbu together with a group of students organized the first ever International Conference of Tibetan Medicine held first in Venice and then in Arcidosso. Several famous Tibetan doctors were invited and gave lectures on important aspects of traditional Tibetan medicine, among them Doctor Jampa Thinley, Director of the Lhasa Institute of Tibetan Medicine or the late Doctor Tsarong Jigme Tsewang, Director of the Institute of Tibetan Medicine in Dharamsala. The present volume contains the proceedings of this historic event, including the full text of the lectures and several photos:
