Why should a Japanese learn interlingua? The simple answer to that question is: Because Interlingua is the international vocabulary that is c o m m o n to all languages that have their origin in Europe, and that its very simple grammar is a reflexion of a general European grammar. Learning Interlingua is the easiest way tho acquire the vocabulary useful when learning other European languages. The explanation to this is that one of the Indo-European languages, Latin, which was the language of the Roman Empire 2000 years ago, continued to serve as the means of communication between all cultivated people in the whole of Europe for many hundred years
