Björn Larsson's photographs are based on a collection of naturalistic dioramas in museums in Upsala and Stockholm, Sweden, and Abo, Finland, that were created by Gustaf Kolthoff. These were designed in order to observe an artificially constructed 'nature' and located in a purpose designed museum. Curious, dreamlike and artificial, the photographs play with illusion and perception and hyperreality. Essay in English by Magnus Bärtås. Swedish edition: Med Björn Larsson mitt i naturen.
