Growth and Recovery Performance of Lead Bank I Sheeja

The Lead bank is expected to assume a major role in the development of banking and credit in the allotted districts. It will primarily be responsible for surveying the credit needs, developing a network of branches and extending adequate credit facilities through the co-operation of other banks operating in the district. The Lead bank is also expected to maintain contacts and liaison with government and quasi-government agencies engaged in development activities. In other words, the lead bank is expected to promote all round development of the allotted district. It is, however, to be noted that the lead bank is not expected to have a monopoly of banking business in a district.
