After saving him from being attacked in an alleyway during a visit to London, Hayden is taken on as a gardener by Lord Alton, a reclusive antisocial nobleman confined to a wheelchair. While at times wavering in his resolve, Hadyen Darby continues to try and break through the other's cold exterior by means of the work set out for him, hoping that with time he could bring some light back into Lord A's solitary life, and perhaps, his own. Little does he know what dark mysteries and horrifying secrets shroud the old manor and its inhabitants.
