New York City, 1940. Not the most peaceful place but now heating up more than usual. Frank DeGrae, private eye, has been called out again. His old partner and friend, Lieutenant Akers, has had another victim dropped in his lap and the situation is beginning to look desperate. The murders are becoming a regular thing and beginning to look connected. Frank, no longer on the department but working for himself as a private detective, has developed his own concern there may be a serial killer loose in his city. Who is this person, who has made his hit list, and why? Frank has decided to team up with his old cop buddies again to find and stop this killer before there is a new member admitted to The Dead Club.
